Whether you’re looking to hire a Credit Repair Company or plan to do your own Credit Repair, I strongly recommend that you read everything that I have written on this page before making a final decision. I have experience in using a Credit Repair Company and in doing Credit Repair on my own:
If you have spent anytime at all on research about Credit Repair Companies, you have probably noticed the overwhelming advice…DO NOT use a Credit Repair Company. However, in the end, it’s up to you, but I’d like for you to consider both options equally.
In the late 90’s, I was even featured in a statewide newspaper in North Carolina. I could have done without the nearly 8×10 size color photo of me that they published in the Sunday edition. I was sitting on my living room floor with all my Credit Repair efforts spread out in front of me. I had stacks of paper from weeks of effort doing my own Credit Repair.

In the late 90’s when I did my own Credit Repair, I can tell you it was TIME CONSUMING. At that time, I was studying the subject a lot and felt knowledgeable enough to know what to do. However, many years have passed and my time is worth far too much to spend hours and hours over many weeks doing my own Credit Repair. Grant it, Credit Repair is important to me, but taking a boat load of my personal time to do it myself is not the way I want to spend my days.
I do monitor my credit report and credit score through Equifax (Get Equifax Score Watch Now! ) which I recommend to everyone reading this. However, although you can dispute all 3 bureaus yourself, it can be a daunting task. I found all kinds of errors on my reports back when I did my own Credit Repair.

Are you determined to do your own Credit Repair?
If you are determined to do Credit Repair yourself, I have one little secret for you that I used very 
successfully back in the day. I worked on my Equifax Credit Report (Get Equifax Score Watch Now! ) first and used that updated Credit Report to dispute the other two bureaus. It seemed to work pretty well because my argument was that it’s not on my Equifax report so why is it on my TransUnion or Experian, but a lot has changed in the last 10 years. The reason that I say that is because I’m not as nearly up to date on Credit Reporting and Credit Repair as I was back in the late 90’s. Therefore, I recommend that you at least consider a good reputable Credit Repair Company. I have used a couple of different credit repair companies myself and know what they did for me. Whatever you do, please bookmark this website for future reference.
The Right Credit Repair Company…
I do agree that for the most part using a Credit Repair Company to do what you could potentially do on your own may seem like a bad idea. But if you can find the right Credit Repair Company, you should consider that as a viable option. Personally, I would be very cautious when using a credit repair company and do your homework.
I have been very impressed with with two different Credit Repair Companies at the start only to get disappointed over time. It’s very important to me that I get friendly professional service from any company that I use whether they are Credit Repair Company in Texas or the phone company in my local area. How many times have you been impressed with the phone company? I think you get my point. In my opinion all Credit Repair Companies should not be put in one group just because of a few (OK maybe tons) of bad apples.
